Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to PantryPath! By downloading, installing, or using the PantryPath mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

We may modify these Terms at any time. Your continued use of the Service after any changes indicates your acceptance of the modified Terms.

2. Description of Service

PantryPath is a grocery list and recipe management application that helps you:

  • Create and manage shopping lists
  • Track ingredients you have on hand
  • Discover recipes based on your available ingredients
  • Plan meals and reduce food waste
  • Access step-by-step cooking instructions

3. Account Registration

To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information
  • Maintain and update your information to keep it accurate
  • Keep your password secure and confidential
  • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account and use the Service.

4. Free and Pro Subscriptions

Free Tier

PantryPath offers a free tier with core features including grocery list management, recipe suggestions, and basic cooking mode.

Pro Subscription

PantryPath Pro offers additional features including:

  • Multiple kitchens/households
  • Custom themes
  • Dietary filters and nutrition information
  • Data export and backup
  • Priority support

Billing and Cancellation

  • Pro subscriptions are billed monthly or annually through the App Store or Google Play
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
  • You can cancel your subscription at any time through your device's app store settings
  • No refunds are provided for partial subscription periods
  • Prices may change with reasonable notice; continued use constitutes acceptance

5. User Content

You retain ownership of any content you create within the Service, including your grocery lists, recipes, and preferences ("User Content"). By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to:

  • Store and process your User Content to provide the Service
  • Sync your User Content across your devices
  • Create backups of your User Content

We do not claim ownership of your User Content and will not use it for purposes other than providing the Service.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the application
  • Use automated means to access the Service without permission
  • Impersonate another person or entity
  • Share your account credentials with others

7. Recipe and Nutritional Information

PantryPath provides recipe suggestions and nutritional information for informational purposes only. Please note:

  • Not Medical Advice: Nutritional information is approximate and should not be used for medical dietary decisions. Consult a healthcare professional for dietary advice.
  • Allergies: Always verify ingredients for allergens. We are not responsible for allergic reactions or adverse health effects.
  • Accuracy: Recipe information is sourced from third parties and may contain errors. Verify critical information independently.
  • Food Safety: Follow proper food safety guidelines when preparing meals. We are not responsible for foodborne illness.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content (excluding User Content), features, and functionality are owned by PantryPath and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

The PantryPath name, logo, and all related names, logos, and slogans are trademarks of PantryPath. You may not use these trademarks without our prior written permission.

9. Third-Party Services

The Service may integrate with or contain links to third-party services, including:

  • Recipe APIs for content and suggestions
  • Payment processors for subscription billing
  • Analytics services for app improvement

We are not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or practices of third-party services. Your use of such services is at your own risk.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose
  • Warranties that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
  • Warranties regarding the accuracy or reliability of any information obtained through the Service

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PANTRYPATH SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $50, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless PantryPath and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

13. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including:

  • Violation of these Terms
  • Conduct that we determine is harmful to other users or the Service
  • Request by law enforcement or government agencies

You may terminate your account at any time by deleting your account through the app settings or contacting us. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid or unenforceable provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable.

16. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and PantryPath regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
